Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Asparagus is the perfect addition to your meal or snack rotation! This recipe is special because it’s one that my family makes for important gatherings (fantastic finger food). I will warn you, this recipe is labor-intensive. It’s not hard, but it does take a while to wrap and skew. I think it’s worth it, especially everyone once in a while for a special treat.

While making this recipe, I had a few things to consider.

1. How much time do I want this to take
2. Clean up can be, by far, the most labor-intensive part of a recipe
3. Texture and taste
4. Is this recipe going to meet my lifestyle choices? – On my mission to take care of myself, does Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Asparagus fit my lifestyle? I hope it’ll fit yours!!

Putting It Together:

There are a few things about this recipe you should know. 1. You can wrap the bacon while it’s raw, or to make sure it’s cooked, you can precook it for a little bit. It’s important that it’s still flexible enough for wrapping. Then in the final cooking time, it can become crispy. 2. You can cook these in the oven or on the grill. I recommend that if you’re making a big batch (over 100), do it in the oven; it will save you so much time. However, if you’re making a small batch (less than 100) do it on the grill. Why? The grill gives these an amazing smoky flavor that is irresistible! These also do fantastically in the air fryer if you’re sticking to the recipe’s measurements, which I’ve scaled down.

Substitutions:

As far as substitutes, although I haven’t tried myself, I’m fairly positive you could put just about anything in the middle. If you don’t like asparagus? Try a different hard green veggie. I love this recipe just the way it is, but when you make it, it becomes your recipe.
It’s OK to change a recipe to fit your personal needs; in fact, I highly encourage it! How do you think recipes come about in the first place, or why are there hundreds of different recipes for the same food item? It’s due to personal preference or personal need!

How to Store Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Asparagus:

1. Refrigerator
Store Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Asparagus in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll stay fresh for 7 days, keeping their texture and flavor.

2. Freezing
I have never frozen these! (They’re sooo tasty, they all get eaten.) However, if you wanted to freeze them (1 month), I’d recommend freezing them raw. Thawing in the fridge and then cooking them.

Does It Meet My Standards?

Remember that list of standards we set? Lets review:

1. How much time do I want this to take
From start to finish this recipe takes about an hour or longer. Its definitely time intensive but in this case, definitely worth it.

2. Clean up can be, by far, the most labor-intensive part of a recipe
This recipe can use quite a bit of dishes depending on how many you make, however, sometimes thats what it takes

3. Texture and flavor – I want mine to be just right
Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Asparagus is one of my favorites for this reason. The mix of smoky bacon, juicy shrimp, and crunchy asparagus is to die for! These are seriously addictive.

4. Is this recipe going to meet my lifestyle choices? – On my mission to take care of myself, this dish fits my lifestyle, and I hope it will fit yours!!
As someone who started AIP and now follows paleo (less strict) this recipe is so amazing for when I want a warm yummy lunch, dinner, or snack. It also makes for a great party food.

Not only will this recipe keep you coming back for more, but your friends and family, even if they don’t necessarily follow dietary restrictions (mine loves it). I hope this recipe has inspired you to forge your version if necessary or share these delicious Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Asparagus with your family. Have a wonderful day!

The shrimp are wrapped in tasty bacon and grilled just right, while the crispy asparagus adds a delightful crunch.
These fresh shrimp are carefully wrapped in bacon, which adds a delicious smoky flavor that goes perfectly with their natural sweetness. As they cook on the grill, the bacon becomes crispy and releases a wonderful aroma that makes your mouth water.
But that's not all – the asparagus also plays a tasty role. It's fresh and full of flavor, giving a nice crunch and earthy taste that balances out the dish. Grilling the asparagus adds a touch of smokiness that goes well with the bacon.
This dish is a mix of different tastes and textures – the tender shrimp against the crispy bacon, and the flavorful grill taste with the mild sweetness of the asparagus. Everything comes together for a delicious experience that you won't forget.

  • Grilling and Wrapping:
When preparing these  have everything prepped, so break the asparagus and thaw the shrimp also if you are worried about using raw bacon, slightly your bacon in the oven before wrapping. Begin with a piece of bacon laid flat, in the middle of the strip of bacon place a shrimp and a piece of asparagus, then wrap the bacon around the shrimp and asparagus from both sides and over lap the bacon, then put a toothpick through making sure it holds the bacon around the shrimp and asparagus, make sure that the toothpick goes through the shrimp and asparagus ensuring that it won't fall apart.
I like to pop these on my grill for extra flavor, but an air fryer also works great.
