Deviled Eggs are the perfect addition to your meal or snack rotation! This recipe is special because it’s one that my family makes for family gatherings (fantastic finger food). The longest part of this recipe is peeling the eggs but the rest is easy. It’s worth it, especially for high protein option at any gathering

While making this recipe, I had a few things to consider.

1. How much time do I want this to take
2. Clean up can be, by far, the most labor-intensive part of a recipe
3. Texture and taste
4. Is this recipe going to meet my lifestyle choices? – On my mission to take care of myself, do Deviled Eggs fit my lifestyle? I hope it’ll fit yours!!

Putting It Together:

There are a few things about this recipe you should know. This recipe is easy and undeniably delicious. For this recipe, you can soft-boil or hard-boil the eggs. To boil the eggs, cover them in room temperature water and put them on the stove on high heat. When the water comes to a boil, boil for 6 minutes for soft and 8-9 minutes for hard. Then peel and cut the eggs in half, remove the yolks, and mix them with mayo and other mix-ins. After the yolks are mixed smoothly, transfer to a bag and cut a hole, and pipe back into the egg halves.

Substitutions:

As far as substitutes, if you don’t like mayo, you can try dairy-free yogurt or Greek yogurt. I personally feel like avocado oil mayo does really well. For mix-ins, you can add some pickle juice, bacon bits, or chives (green onions).
It’s OK to change a recipe to fit your personal needs; in fact, I highly encourage it! How do you think recipes come about in the first place, or why are there hundreds of different recipes for the same food item? It’s due to personal preference or personal need!

How to Store Deviled Eggs:

1. Refrigerator
Store Deviled in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll stay fresh for 3 days, keeping their texture and flavor.

2. Freezing
Probably don’t freeze them? I’ve never tried.

Does It Meet My Standards?

Remember that list of standards we set? Lets review:

1. How much time do I want this to take
From start to finish this recipe takes 30 minutes. It doesn’t take very long unless you make a lot, definitely worth it.

2. Clean up can be, by far, the most labor-intensive part of a recipe
This recipe doesn’t use many dishes at all! So clean up is pretty easy

3. Texture and flavor – I want it to be just right
Deviled Eggs is one of my favorites for his reason. The mix of bacon bits, pickle juice, or fresh chives is to die for! These are seriously addictive.

4. Is this recipe going to meet my lifestyle choices? – On my mission to take care of myself, this dish fits my lifestyle, and I hope it will fit yours!!
As someone who started AIP and now follows paleo (less strict) this recipe is so amazing for when I want a warm yummy lunch, dinner, or snack. It also makes for a great party food.

Not only will this recipe keep you coming back for more, but your friends and family, even if they don’t necessarily follow dietary restrictions (mine loves it).
